WHAT IS

?

We're trying something new this year.

Club FWA will feature 4 different furry community groups, each taking over the club for a night.

Each group will curate their own lineup from start to finish.

Who are the groups?

i.W.A.I.T.
i.W.A.I.T. (I'm WarneD1 And It's Today) has, up until now, exclusively hosted events online and in VRChat. Their show at Club FWA will be their debut in-person event.

i.W.A.I.T. started as a solo Thursday stream/club event in VRChat hosted by WarneD1. After a few months of streaming alone he decided to invite friends to join him on stage. The first club event featuring guest DJs took place on January 13, 2022, and since then, it has been a nearly weekly tradition.

We're beyond excited help bring i.W.A.I.T. in to the real world for its first in-person event at Club FWA!

i.W.A.I.T. events are scheduled almost every Thursday and second Saturday.

DON'T DROWN
Appropriate to its name, DON'T DROWN started at Anthrocon's waterfront as a semi-impromtu pop-up rave. Not only has the group returned to Anthrocon for 2 years since its inception, they've expanded into playing venues all over the Northeast.

After Anthrocon last year, DON'T DROWN approached us to see how they could accomplish something like the waterfront raves at FWA, with the goal of bringing the vibe of a home-grown community rave to the con.

With our own goal to create spaces for the community to host their own events, we were very interested. We worked with them to create an "unofficial" underground rave in the Marriott basement to great success. That event led to the ideation and creation of this project, Club FWA.

AdventureCru
AdventureCru has been a staple of the furry community for over a decade, and has extensive experience in working with venues across the west coast, as well as running parties at conventions across the world.

AdventureCru started over 14 years ago as a small friend group in the SF Bay Area and has since grown into a multi-country community, built largely by and for trans furries looking to create a home together.

Their goal, especially over the past few years, has been to advance visibility, scale, and access to their events for queer and trans people; To demonstrate how large, powerful and kinetic their community really is.

As a staple of the furry community, we've known of AdventureCru for quite some time. We attended their more recent events and were impressed that they not only put on an incredible show, but do so with the purpose of creating a safe, powerful space for queer and trans people—a goal that aligns closely with our mission—we are incredibly excited they're joining us to kick off the first Club FWA.

AdventureCru's hope is that you'll feel free to be yourself at their events, and to create memories that stick with you for years to come.

Undead Dog
(Pop-Punk/Alternative Party)
The concept of Undead Dog was born during the pandemic when one of the co-creators set out to build a space in VRChat for the 90s to 2010s jams that they listened to when they were in high school. Their goal was to bring back the joy and nostalgia factor of their youth, and offer people a much-needed escape with furry conventions on hold, while also providing an alternative to the many VRChat events focused more heavily on dance music.

When FWA returned after the pandemic, that co-creator decided to reach out to their friend who had experience organizing and running events that focused on this style of music, to see if they were interested in doing a pop-punk & alternative party at FWA. Knowing how fundamental this style of music is to generations of furries who grew up with it in their every-day lives, they quickly agreed to help create the event.

As the Club Stage's resident Atlanta locals, word of their plans spread quickly within the community and got around to FWA leadership. Seeing the passion behind the idea, we invited them to host their party in our event suites as one of our first-year events. Now, after three successful years in FWA's event suites, we're excited to see them expand into Club FWA.

Why is FWA doing this?

Our Mission Statement
"Furry Weekend Atlanta is a community-driven, volunteer-led organization that is devoted to providing memorable, educational, inclusive, and safe experiences where our community is encouraged to explore and express their true self."
Inclusivity and self-expression are at the heart of FWA's mission.

Over the past few years, the furry fandom and FWA have grown immensely in size. This would never be possible without the creativity and shared experiences that so many members of our community have graciously provided all of us. We are committed to upholding our mission statement and providing programming and events that reach as much of the community as possible.

As part of that goal, we've been experimenting with new ways to give the furry community more opportunities to create and host their own events within FWA.

Three years ago we introduced our event suites, offering some of the largest suites in the Marriott to community groups looking to bring their unique events to life.

In 2024 we expanded on that concept, we worked with DON'T DROWN to throw an underground rave in an impromptu con space, receiving incredibly positive feedback from both DON'T DROWN as well as our attendees.

Club FWA is our newest experiment. As the furry community and conventions continue to grow, we hope that giving community groups dedicated spaces to do their own thing will help to continue the homegrown vibe that makes furry conventions amazing.
What else is FWA doing?
As an organization, Furry Weekend Atlanta has become more than just one big annual event!

Beyond our annual convention, we've created a community space in Norcross GA, where we host furry events year-round.

Our Georgia Furs team (part of the FWA family) puts on a yearly "mini-con" that brings local furs together for awesome panels and an artist market!

A group of FWA staff and leaders started the "FWArehouse," a regular rave that occurs in our community space, featuring both local and out of state DJs.

Outside of those we also host board game nights, art jams, and we're always looking for new ways to use the space.

We're using our resources to provide the community more than just one big event. FWA is doing what we can to create spaces the furry community can thrive in.
